In March this year the Australian Centre for Christianity and Culture welcomed an Indonesian delegation as part of an annual Australia-Indonesia Muslim Leaders exchange program. During the recent history of this program the delegation has each year visited the ACC&C to engage in dialogue about religious and cultural life in Australia. This year the delegation consisted of leaders in secondary and tertiary institutions from various places in Indonesia. They included television actors; teachers in secondary and tertiary educational institutions covering a variety of disciplines: theology, spirituality and law; and leaders of women's organisations and counsellors.
This year the delegation of six attended the annual Commonwealth Day Multi-Faith Celebration. This was followed by a discussion for an hour with the Executive Director Rt Rev'd Professor Stephen Pickard on topics relevant to Australia-Indonesian relationships in the area of religion, culture and ethics. As usual the delegation had an opportunity to go on the Pilgrim Walk from the Great Cross, to the Pilgrim Poles, Labyrinth and Bible Garden. The Centre is blessed by these regular visits from our Indonesian neighbours. This Christian-Muslim dialogue is a practical expression of one of the Four Pillars of the Centre: Peace through new religious dialogue.
