You're invited to attend Bluestar’s Annual Ramadan Iftar Dinner, entitled ‘The Art of Living Together’. This year, coinciding with the ‘So you might Know Each Other’ Islamic Art exhibition at the National Museum of Australia, Bluestar Intercultural Centre, the Australian Catholic University and the Australian Centre for Christianity and Culture have organised an Iftar Dinner to reaffirm our bonds of affinity with each other as a society. Invitations will be extended to the community leaders, parliamentarians, media personalities, senior public servants, academics and defence force members.
Based on this year’s theme, the keynote address will be presented by Dr Sam Bowker, Lecturer in Art History and Visual Culture, Charles Sturt University. There will also be live Islamic Art demonstrations and music.
The event will be held on Friday, 18th of May 2018 at 7:00 pm in the Atrium at the National Museum of Australia, Lawson Cres, Acton ACT 2601. The dinner and the program will conclude at 9:00 pm.
On this special occasion, we celebrate diversity in our harmonious society by coming together for the Muslim Iftar Dinner, which has proven to significantly augment the friendships between Australian Muslims and members of the wider Australian community by encouraging mutual respect, understanding and acceptance as well as advocating unity under the common values of humanity that Australians from a myriad of cultural and religious backgrounds all espouse.
We would be delighted to have your attendance at this event.
