James Farley is a cross-disciplinary casual academic teaching into the School of Communications and Creative industries based on Charles Sturt Universities Wagga Wagga campus. He is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Philosophy through Charles Sturt University where he is undertaking study in increased interdisciplinary discourse on the sublime towards a wider conversation on a potential for new sublime dialectic and environmental photography. James research bridges photographic theory, history and criticism, ecology, landscape management issues and aesthetics.
As a practicing and widely exhibited visual artist James practice-led-research contributes to the increasing dialogue surrounding anthropogenic climate change, environmental photographies and contemporary re-alignments in romantic artistic traditions.
