Anne has spent over 25 years in the advertising industry in Australia working in senior account management roles for major agencies including McCann-Erickson, Publicis Mojo (MDA) and DDB. Anne's client management and strategic planning expertise has provided a major contribution to the effective management and marketing success of a diverse range of national and international marketers' products and services. These include pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, FMCG, banking and finance.
Anne brings her depth of practical experience to the integrated teaching and learning environment at CSU for the final year advertising students in the on-campus student Marketing Communications Agency, Kajulu Communications. Here, under her guidance, the students work on authentic, outside client projects as they would in a real agency, gaining valuable hands-on industry experience. Since 2009, Anne has led her Kajulu Communications student teams to victory as National Champions in the International Advertising Association 'Big Idea' national inter-university competition eight times and during that time, both CSU teams have placed in the top four finalists.
Anne has also been awarded the 2014 CSU Faculty of Arts award for Teaching & Professional Excellence and the 2014 Australian Government Office for Learning and Teaching Citation for Outstanding Contributions for Student Learning.
Anne is the Advertising Discipline Lead. She is Subject Coordinator for the introductory subject The Advertising Business, as well as for the final year subjects, Advertising Strategy and Planning, and the capstone subject, Professional Practice in Communication.
Anne's current research interest is in the area of authentic learning and teaching, practiced based education and graduate employability. Based on the Kajulu model, where final year advertising students 'work' in the on-campus student Agency, she is researching constructively aligned design in the pedagogy of the capstone subject in the advertising course, within the framework of the Kajulu authentic learning environment. Her Master of Arts research thesis in 2017 focused on the employability gap in marcoms graduates between university and practice.
