Fiona Collins has extensive experience as a primary and secondary teacher in both metropolitan and regional schools in NSW. She is passionate about developing and nurturing a love of mathematics and science in people of all ages and is dedicated to sharing her knowledge, skills and experience with others.
Fiona completed her Masters of Education on how teachers integrate the Interactive Whiteboard into their mathematics instruction to support student learning. She researched the choices teachers make in relation to software applications used in conjunction with interactive whiteboards during mathematics instruction and how they perceive their choices influence students' learning of mathematics.
Her current research is focused on the digital technologies that teachers utilise to aid STEM instruction in primary and secondary schools in regional NSW.
Fiona teaches a range of curriculum methods subjects in primary and secondary mathematics and science.
Fiona maintains Proficient Teacher Accreditation with the NSW Education Standards Authority. She is a CSU Values Ambassador and is a member of the School of Education, Curriculum, Learning and Teaching Committee and the School of Education Assessment Committee.
