Susan joined the School of Indigenous Australian Studies in July 2016 to collaborate on School's Indigenous Australian Online Pedagogy project. Susan is a Wiradjuri Ngemba woman who grew up in Brewarrina. Susan works primarily online from her home city of Brisbane. Susan's academic experience began with a Bachelor of Information Technology (Data Comms & Info Sys). Susan received 1st class Honours post-graduate Degree (Research) at QUT and is currently completing her PhD titled "Cloud Connections track Virtual Pathways: extending understandings of existing potentiality from a Ngemba community standpoint". Susan's particular interest is in the ways in which online Communities of Practice impact learning and development from an Indigenist standpoint and how colonial systems impede such. Susan has presented nationally and internationally on Cloud computing contexts in Aboriginal communities and has also worked in academia since 2005 teaching in both the Indigenous Knowledges arena and Information Technologies in Systems Analysis and Design and in Emerging Technologies. Prior to Academia, Susan worked in the Legal industry for many years commencing in IT support, which led to Network Management and ICT Management from Sydney, Perth and Brisbane.
