Deb is a senior lecturer in Health and Physical Education Curriculum. She teaches in a range of undergraduate courses and supervises Honours and PhD students. Deb has worked at five NSW tertiary institutions and previous to her academic life was a Health and Physical Education teacher and Faculty Director in NSW secondary schools. Deb is interested in improving the quality of learning and teaching in Higher Education. Deb was an author of the Personal and Social Capacity General Capability of the Australian Curriculum, and author of the NSW Board of Studies Years 7-10 and Stage 6 PDHPE syllabuses.
Deb teaches in the disciplines of Health and Physical Education at undergraduate level and research methods at postgraduate level. Subjects include:
Deb's research relates to learning and teaching in higher education, scholarship of teaching and learning, Indigenous Education, authentic assessment, Australian curriculum particularly the General Capabilities, and communities of practice.
