Peter is the Acting Associate Dean, Research and Associate Professor in Communication Research and Associate Head of SCCI in Bathurst. He lectures in organisational communication and public relations. He has also taught organisational communication in the UK and Singapore. Before joining CSU Peter specialised in organisational communication and strategic change management. He worked in advertising, media and government relations, employee communication, strategic planning and management, and public information campaigns.

Peter has a special interest in communicating for cooperation, and has researched extensively with sport referees: "What players want in a football referee" on YouTube.
Peter is an Associate Professor in Communication, specialising in organisational communication and public relations. His subject specialties include employee communication, research methods, stakeholder engagement, public relations and project management. He has also worked on teaching teams designing and delivering in-house training to strategic communication staff in some of Australia's leading organisations including the Australian Defence Forces, Australian Tax Office, Australian Mutual Provident and the Australian Human Rights Commission. He is particularly interested in links between communication and perceptions of credibility and legitimacy. Peter has also researched the links between perceptions of fairness and student satisfaction.
Peter is particularly interested in the way professionals communicate fairness and legitimacy, and the ways that clients and users of services perceive fairness and legitimacy. Much of his recent research links communication disciplines and practitioners with the theory and thousands of studies conducted in the field of organisational justice. His research interests span fairness and communication, government communication, the ethics of journalist and public relations interaction, public relations evaluation, and sport referee communication.
He has presented his research and findings in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe and North America. In 2008 he was the first Australian to receive a Havelange Research Scholarship from FIFA.
