Damian has over 18 years international award-winning industry experience working at the pinnacle of sound design for film, television, animation, games, music and immersive media including virtual reality and 360º film.
Credits include one of the Australia’s first room-scale virtual reality projects, War Torn and some of his feature film work includes: Safe Neighbourhood, The LEGO Movie, The Great Gatsby and Happy Feet. Damian has also worked on over 150 episodes of television including the Henson produced US television sci-fi series Farscape and he has recorded, mixed, produced and re-mixed for many artists and bands and is credited as recording engineer on several ARIA winning albums.
Damian is currently exploring collaborative opportunities where his vast media production experience brings immersive virtual reality solutions to additional disciplines including education, health and agriculture.
Damian lectures in screen and sound in the School of Communication and Creative Industries at undergraduate level. Damian also supervises postgraduate students including at PhD level. Some research areas his students are studying include:
The concatenation between Damian's industry practice and research has allowed him to build a portfolio of internationally awarded works. Damian has conducted extensive research in sound design, sound for screen, and immersive media including 360º film and virtual reality.
