Carol is the Course Director for the Bachelor of Education (Birth to Five), the Bachelor of Teaching (Birth to Five) and the Associate Degree Early Childhood (Birth to Five). She has extensive experience as a teacher in primary schools, as a teacher and director in early childhood settings and as a consultant and advisor for the early childhood sector. She is a member of working parties and committees for both the Faculty of Education and the University and works closely with TAFE NSW to develop academic partnerships. Carol is also the NSW President of Early Childhood Australia (ECA).

She has published as well as presented at conferences both nationally and internationally in a number of spheres. These papers and presentations have included areas on practice-based learning, fieldwork education, educational interactions and curricula, team-based leadership and exploring relationships between quality leadership activities and outcomes for professional development for early childhood teachers. Carol spent 2010 teaching in Canada at the CSU Burlington Ontario campus where she was able to interact on many levels with the early childhood sector across Canada.
