Christopher Bartel is a Professor of Philosophy at Appalachian State University (USA). His research interests primarily lie within aesthetics (with a special focus on music and video games) and ethics (with a special focus on media ethics and issues in technology ethics). He is the author of Video Games, Violence, and the Ethics of Fantasy: Killing Time (Bloomsbury 2020), which offers an account of when a player’s actions in a video game are morally wrong. Additionally, his essays have appeared in journals such as the British Journal of Aesthetics, Ethics and Information Technology, the European Journal of Philosophy, and the Journal of Aesthetics and Art Criticism.
