Andrew Hagan is an international judge, co-director of the Australian International Animation Festival, Autodesk Certified Maya Instructor, Adobe Certified Expert, and established Australia's first undergraduate university degree dedicated to the art and science of Animation and Visual Effects. With relevant degrees in Bachelor of Arts (Fine Arts) (Honours) - First Class, and Bachelor of Arts (Television Production), he is an academic as well as a practitioner in industry. His wide experience of researching creative digital technology has provided him with professional expertise while also supporting his educational interests in sharing comprehensive artistic theory and practice with others. In 2010, Andrew was selected for Marquis Who's Who in the World.

Andrew continually charts the rise of animation in popular culture and is currently researching the leading technologies driving digital visual effects production. He maintains currency with the latest versions of industry applications including Autodesk, Adobe, Microsoft, and specialist VFX vendors to the level of professional status. His strong Multimedia background allows for broad-ranging projects including web design and coding such as the upcoming educational website driven by Apache, MySQL and PHP. Current projects include scientific visualisation, advances in match-moving, mental ray rendering, latest compositing technology, and enhancing production pipelines. Such is the rapid rate of change, his research is regularly incorporated into weekly lectures and workshops.
