Conferences

The Centre for Islamic Studies and Civilisation (CISAC) organises dynamic and thought-provoking conferences that delve into critical themes shaping Muslim identity and the lived experiences of Muslim communities. These conferences explore key disciplines within Islamic studies, contributing to their development and relevance in the modern world. CISAC is committed to fostering a deeper understanding of Islam through comparative religion and interfaith dialogue, addressing pressing global issues and promoting meaningful engagement across diverse perspectives.

Since 2013, CISAC has hosted a series of impactful conferences, bringing together leading academics, researchers, and practitioners to engage in critical discussions on topics such as Islamic spirituality and healing, Muslim youth in the West, Islamic chaplaincy, faith-based movements, and Islamic psychology. Our conferences have also examined the role of Islamic studies in higher education, the challenges of far-right extremism and Islamophobia, and issues related to Muslim women and gender. With specialised focus areas such as prophethood in Islam (prophetology), comparative theology, and the intersection of theology with science and philosophy, CISAC’s conferences serve as a hub for cutting-edge research and transformative dialogue. These gatherings aim to shape the understanding and practice of Islam in today’s world while fostering collaboration and innovation.
