Mirela Cufurovic is a researcher of Australian Muslim history at Charles Sturt University. She taught Australian history and literary studies at Western Sydney University. She was also a subject matter expert, having written, reviewed and developed curriculum on subjects in the Humanities for Western Sydney University. Mirela is one of the book review editors for History Australia. She is currently completing her PhD, exploring how emotion shapes Australian Muslim identity development.

When she is not teaching or writing about history, she talks to Australian authors and historians about their writing lives on Instagram as part of Tea Time with Mirela, leads The Australian Muslim Review as its founding editor, and is a writer of the Sweatshop Literacy Movement.
