This page is for students undertaking the online Bachelor of Educational Studies course.
There are different placement requirements for your professional experience depending upon the pathway you are undertaking within the Bachelor of Educational Studies. If you aren't sure about which professional experience subjects you need to undertake, please contact the Course Administration Team: FOAE-Course@csu.ed.au
Before enrolling in your professional experience subject, you must submit a Request to Waive Prerequisite Study Form to Student Administration. This process must be completed before subject enrolment. The prerequisite application needs to include:
Only after you have received confirmation of your prerequisite subject waiver can you enrol in the relevant professional experience subject. After enrolling in the subject, you must also ensure that you have met all mandatory requirements and followed all guidelines for organising your placement. Details about these requirements and guidelines are available here: Placement Information All Students. All documentation must be current and valid until the end of your placement.
Placement applications are processed through InPlace, the CSU professional experience placement management system. Please log in to InPlace to enter the details of your proposed placement against the required fields. Once you have submitted your placement application via InPlace, a member of the Workplace Learning Team will contact you to discuss your placement options.

We strongly encourage you upload a Curriculum Vitae (CV). By uploading your CV you are consenting to the Workplace Learning Team sharing this information with Schools for the purpose of securing a placement for you. The CV should be of the same standard you would submit to a Principal when seeking employment as a teacher (work experience, qualifications, previous professional experience, extracurricular skills, and special interests). The NSW Department of Education and Communities has some helpful guidelines for writing a CV on their website.
Note: All primary and secondary school placements must be sourced by the Workplace Learning Team. Teacher education students are not permitted to contact schools themselves. Early placement applications will greatly improve the chances of the Workplace Learning Team securing your preferred placement, however this is not guaranteed.
Application for Session 1 placements must be submitted by Week 4 of Session 1. Application for Session 2 placements must be submitted by week 8 of Session 1.
