Tuesday 28 July 7.00 – 8.30pm AEST
In this opening seminar, panellists will spend time naming and considering the overlapping crises shaping contemporary education, including widening inequality, ecological collapse, colonialism, generative AI, distrust in institutions, global conflict and growing social fragmentation. Rather than treating these as isolated disruptions, in this seminar we will consider what these conditions reveal about the historical purposes and political logics of schooling.
Key discussion points:
How should educators respond when young people are trying to make sense of violence, displacement, injustice and difficult global realities?
