Melanie Sugumaran began her teaching career as a Secondary School Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE) Teacher.
She undertook additional roles under the school welfare program. She was closely involved with teacher mentoring and teacher accreditation. In 2012, Melanie moved from a Secondary School setting, to teaching in tertiary education. Since 2016, she has been a part on the Faculty of Arts and Education working as a Workplace Learning Coordinator for the Sydney and Melbourne regions.
Her current role as Course Director is for the graduate entry Bachelor of Teaching and Master of Teaching Secondary Courses. She also teaches for the School of Education across Professional Experience subjects. Research interest include teacher resilience, particularly for teacher education students.
