Erin Hunter has been lecturing at CSU since 2014, when she completed a doctorate about remote Indigenous education. Originally a primary school teacher, she has a passion for making learning a rewarding, relevant and enjoyable experience for all students. She has taught in a range of schools, starting off in a very remote school in an Aboriginal community in the Tanami Desert with EAL/D students. Following this, Erin taught in independent and public schools in NSW and ACT. For over tens years, Erin was the CEO of a Foundation which provided secondary schooling options for students from very remote Northern Territory communities, communities that have no secondary schools. Up until the end of 2023, Erin worked in a local primary school in the learning support position where she taught struggling readers to read, as well as overseeing Indigenous Education Pathways within the school.
