Fiona Collins is a Lecturer in Mathematics and Education in the School of Education on the Wagga Wagga campus. Fiona has extensive experience as a secondary teacher and has also taught in primary contexts. She maintains Proficient Teacher Accreditation with the NSW Education Standards Authority. Fiona is passionate about developing and nurturing a love of mathematics and science in people of all ages and is dedicated to sharing her knowledge, skills and experience with others.

Her current research interests are mathematics and STEM education.

Fiona’s current responsibilities include: Teacher Performance Assessment (TPA) Coordinator; School of Education, Curriculum, learning and teaching Standing Committee member, School of Education, School Assessment Committee (SOE SAC) member and SOE SAC Standing Committee member.

Fiona completed her Masters of Education on how teachers integrate the Interactive Whiteboard into their mathematics instruction to support student learning. She researched the choices teachers make in relation to software applications used in conjunction with interactive whiteboards during mathematics instruction and how they perceive their choices influence students' learning of mathematics. Her current research is focused on the technologies that teachers utilise to aid STEM instruction in primary and secondary schools in regional NSW.

Fiona currently teaches a range of curriculum methods subjects in primary and secondary mathematics and science.
