BEd(K-12MiddleSchling) CSturt, GradCertSecEd CSturt, MEd(EdResearch) CSturt Paige has been a research associate since 2011 and casual academic since 2014 at Charles Sturt University. In this time, Paige has developed a love for supporting tertiary students through their degree progression, continuing to study herself. Currently, Paige teaches in the Bachelor of Education (Birth to Five Years) Program. Paige’s teaching and research interests are early mathematics, STEM, and connecting with families. Paige has taught, coordinated and convened several subjects within the School of Education since 2014, predominantly in Early Years STEM education, as well as early years literacy and primary HASS. Since 2019, Paige has been a QA Officer in the School of Education, supporting the Associate Head of School – Learning and Teaching in quality assurance and quality improvement across all subject outlines. Paige is a current PhD student in the School of Education (SoE), supervised by Dr Sheena Elwick and Associate Professor Angela Fenton. Paige’s research seeks to support families in noticing and reflecting upon the mathematical content evident in young children’s everyday interactions with Community Professionals. This research interest stems from Paige’s Masters study, which explored baby and toddler (0-3 years old) mathematics in regional New South Wales, Australia. Paige is also a long standing Research Associate and Assistant, having been involved in a wide range of large and small research projects across a variety of discipline areas within Education, including ARC, DECRA and Australian Government funded projects. Some of the projects Paige has been involved in include The Smith Family’s Let’s Count, Little Scientists, Koori Art in high schools, CSIRO’s STEMable, and Continuity of Learning. In her role as a CSU Academic Fellow, Paige is excited to continue working with passionate and dedicated students, and to be continuing her own learning journey as she undertakes her PhD in early years mathematics.
