Philosophy and Ethics Research

The Philosophy and Ethics research group at Charles Sturt University brings together scholars working at the intersection of philosophical theory and applied ethics. Our researchers engage with pressing ethical issues, including questions emerging from technological advancement and healthcare practices, combining rigorous philosophical analysis with interdisciplinary collaboration.

Our work is characterized by its applied focus - we examine how philosophical insights can inform real-world decisions and policy development. From the ethics of artificial intelligence and virtual reality to end-of-life care and professional responsibility, our research addresses the moral complexities of modern life.

The group maintains strong collaborative relationships both within the university and with national and international partners, including ongoing projects funded by the Australian Research Council and industry partnerships. Our researchers regularly contribute to public discourse through publication, policy consultation, and community engagement.
