Ethics and Philosophy of Social Work

This stream integrates ethical, philosophical and theoretical foundations with practice applications that facilitate positive social change. It is relevant to all fields of practitioner-research and includes engaging:

  • Impactful, innovative, participatory and respectful methodologies, and
  • Evidence-based interventions with attention to belief, ethics, lived experience, First Nations Epistemologies, personal principles, and professional wisdom.

Our research involves critical reflexivity and exploring positionality. We create and co-create experiential, practical, presentational and propositional knowledges (Heron and Reason, 2008) with real-world applicability for education, health and human services, and other associated sectors.
