Trish is a Senior Lecturer in Social Work at CSU. In addition to being an accredited social worker, Trish is an occupational therapist. She has broad practitioner and clinical experience in various fields which include human rights, public advocacy, child protection, youth justice, mental health, disability services, private clinical practice, and in community services leadership. She has presented at international and national conferences on various topics related to human rights and social work practice.

For her PhD she undertook an interdisciplinary qualitative study on the barriers, enablers, and ethical decision-making in research with children on their experiences of domestic violence. This research involved 49 participants from 5 cohorts: domestic and family violence researchers, clinicians, domestic violence service providers, members of human research ethics committees and mothers with experiences of domestic violence. Research findings led to the development of an enabling model for conducting attuned trauma-safe research with children and young people.
