B.Soc.Sc.(Soc.Psychol&Soc.Res.); M.Soc.Wrk.(Qual.); M.Phil. (Soc.Sci.) Liza Moscatelli is a social worker and multidisciplinary artist. She is a Workplace Learning Coordinator/ Lecturer in Social Work based at Charles Sturt University, Biripai land (Port Macquarie), Mid North Coast of New South Wales. Her interests and work focus on critical social work, decolonising social work practice, research and education, mental health and wellbeing through an intersectional and decolonised lens, and creative research methods. Liza's academic pursuits include a Master of Philosophy (Social Science) focusing on the experiences of newly arrived adolescents from refugee backgrounds in Western Sydney. She is passionate about teaching social work and was recognised for excellence in teaching. Liza has extensive experience in community work with a focus on youth, women, and children. As a practicing artist since 2010, she collaborates with various individuals and organisations to promote social justice through the visual and multimedia arts including photography, videography, and graphic design. Her work is guided by social justice principles, aiming to contribute to a better world through her art and social work practice. Liza transitioned from facilitating arts-based workshops to communities to teaching Social Work at Western Sydney University, specialising in subjects like Working with Cultural Differences, Communities and Social Action and more. She also guest lectured on visual research methods and visual communication. Liza contributed to research projects by creating a Video Essay Guide for students’ major assessment and producing Men's Health videos as an educational resource.
