Profile

I am a non-Indigenous, teaching focused Senior Lecturer and Associate Head in the School of Indigenous Australian Studies. My academic background is in the Humanities. I have a Bachelor of Arts, Graduate Diploma in Education, and Masters of Letters from the University of New England and a Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education. I am currently enrolled in a Graduate Certificate in Applied Mindfulness through Nan Tien Institute, and the Interconnected Leader program through Small Giants Academy. My previous professional experience is varied and includes experience in non-Government welfare organisations, primarily in domestic violence and youth services. In these roles I worked extensively with refugee, migrant, and Indigenous communities in a variety of contexts including case management and community development. I have also been a Language, Literacy and Numeracy teacher of adult learners. I primarily teach foundation subjects with the School of Indigenous Australian Studies. All my professional experience is grounded in a commitment to social justice.
