PhD, MTh, MA, BMus (Hons) Associate Professor Anthony Rees has taught in a variety of contexts in Australia and Fiji. His work has foregrounded particular social issues, leading to publications which engage matters of politics, gender, the environment, and colonial violence. He is committed to finding ways in which sacred texts - formed many ages ago and treasured by communities across centuries - might continue to speak to contemporary struggles. Recently, Anthony has begun to examine the use of biblical texts in classical music alongside a monograph on the biblical figure Moses. He is a member of the Society of Biblical Literature and the Oceania Biblical Studies Association. Anthony has taken on the Head of School role from January 2024.Head of School
