B.A UZ, MLIS NUST, PhD UNISA Sindiso Bhebhe is a former archivist with over a decade of experience in the field. He is currently an academic specialising in records and archives management, focusing on the complexities of preserving and providing access to the records of marginalised communities. Sindiso holds a PhD in Information Science, with a specialisation in records and archives management. His research employs critical theories to explore often-overlooked archives on the fringes of society, particularly those that represent neglected knowledge systems and epistemologies in both the Global South and the Global North. A key aspect of his work involves community archives, where he investigates how these local collections can serve as vital resources for underrepresented communities. He is particularly interested in how these archives can empower marginalised voices and contribute to a more inclusive understanding of history. Additionally, Sindiso examines the impact of emerging technologies on record-keeping in general. Sindiso's research is centered on community archiving, where he focuses on preserving and promoting the heritage and narratives of local communities. As part of his work funded by Charles Sturt University’s Faculty Early Career Research Award, he is conducting a comprehensive study on the viability of various funding models for community archives in Australia.
