2MCE Community Radio

Listen to 2MCE

2MCE is Charles Sturt University's community radio station, broadcasting a diverse range of programs across Wiradjuri Country to Bathurst, Orange and the Central West of NSW on 92.3 and 94.7 FM, and via 2mce.org.

2MCE is both a community service of Charles Sturt University and a major teaching/practical training resource for the School of Information and Communication Studies. Students studying broadcast journalism, theatre, advertising and media production, or from any course across the University can make use of the station's resources for their coursework as well as volunteer to host their own program, or assist in the production of others.

Hands-on experience with 2MCE enables students to operate in the radio industry, gaining professional, practical knowledge. Students create and produce stories, segments, specials and regular programs for broadcast. These skills result in highly regarded graduates ready to undertake specialised roles in the communications industry.

The majority of 2MCE's broadcast is presented by our much valued volunteer station workers, currently numbering around 70. These volunteer station workers are partners of Charles Sturt University and present a diverse range of programs focussing on the interest, needs and activities of the Central West community. To see our schedule head to our site 2mce.org

A number of our current volunteers were also involved in the first broadcasts in 1976, highlighting the important role community-access radio plays in the lives of many people.

You can become an active member or contribute to the station by becoming a financial 2MCE member. Head over to the 2MCE shop.

We are proudly supported by the Community Broadcasting Foundation and the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia.
