Volunteering

2MCE has volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds in our local community.

We are currently looking to fill these volunteer roles:

Breakfast / Community Drive interview producer

2MCE’s Breakfast and Drive programs are focused on local community news and information.
If you like talking to people, this could be the role for you.

The interview producer will write, record, and edit interviews for broadcast during the program.

Time commitment ranges from 2 hours per week to 10 hours per week.

Breakfast presenter/producer

We are looking for presenter/producers to join the Breakfast team. As a presenter/producer, you will prepare the rundown for the program, including regular segments and interviews, prepare live or pre-recorded interviews, and the music playlist.

Time commitment: 4 to 6 hours per day: 2 to 4 hours of preparation, 2 to 3 hours on air.

Talking Newspaper presenter

The Talking Newspaper a radio reading program, presenting news from our local newspapers.
It is presented on weekdays 12pm to 1pm.

Time commitment: 1.5 hours per day: 30 minutes of preparation, 1 hour on air.

Specialist music presenter/producer

2MCE features a range of specialist music programming. We will pair you with a team that matches your interests or you are welcome to submit a program proposal for consideration.

All volunteers will undertake a training and induction program that includes media law for community broadcasters, on air presentation, panel operation and workplace health and safety.
