Karl holds a degree in Design for the Theatre (Scenery and Costume) from The University of Wollongong. He has also studied Risk Management for Special Events. Before moving to Bathurst, Karl had a career in Designing, fabricating and producing scenic art for Theatre and event scenery.

At Charles Sturt, Karl is responsible for the management of building W9, and the supervision of students working in the applied practical aspects of theatre production (design, production and venue management, technical production etc)
