Professional experience timeline

This page will provide you with an overview of the steps taken in sourcing your professional experience placement.

Step 1

Enrol in your placement subject (prior to session start date)

Once you've enrolled in your placement subject, you'll need to:

  1. Complete mandatory tasks (Professional Experience site 'Placement information all students' - link this information)

  2. Gather all the required documents you need for your placement.

  3. Choose a minimum of three school/location preferences for your placement.
Step 2

Complete your InPlace application (prior to session if possible)

With the information you've collated in step 1, log in to InPlace to upload your mandatory documentation and nominate your school placement preferences.

See placement for more details before logging into InPlace.

Step 3

Compliance checks and confirmation

Our Workplace Professional Learning (WPL) team will complete the required compliance verification. The team will prioritise processing verifications based on placement date/ submission timeframes.

Step 4

Professional experience placement sourcing

Our Workplace Learning Coordinator will source your placement.

Please allow 6-8 school term weeks

Once placement is confirmed, we'll send the placement documentation to your supervising teacher.

You'll be appointed a University Liaison Officer (ULO) to support you throughout your placement.

Step 5

Completion of placement

Once you've completed your placement, you need to:

  • ensure your InPlace attendance timesheet is completed
  • complete all assessment tasks for your subject
