All teacher education students must complete the forms included in the subject material, irrespective of the country, state or territory in which they reside. The following guidelines should be of assistance. If you already have documentary evidence to show that you have completed these requirements for an employer, then you may submit certified copies of the documentation.
Students need to upload a copy of their clearance to InPlace.
All students intending on completing their professional experience placement in a Department of Education School in NSW are to complete an additional verification prior to commencing their placement. This is a Departmental policy not part of the University compliance requirements for placements. However, it is a condition of your entry into a Department of Education school and is only required to be completed on one occasion.
The process includes providing the following as attachments to the Probity Unit via email to wwcc@det.nsw.edu.au
All students are required to provide the above documentation at the commencement of placement.
If you are commencing your placement within the next 10 days and you have not completed the above, please do so immediately noting the commencement date on your application.
The Working with Children application for Victoria is available from the Victoria State Government website. Please note the application process may take up to 3 weeks to please ensure you submit your application in plenty of time.

Students completing their professional experience placement in a Government school will be required to obtain and complete a series of forms from the Education Directorate - ACT Government. Relevant application forms cannot be obtained online, however further information can be acquired by contacting Workforce Management by telephone on (02) 6205 5000.

Students who are undertaking professional experience in a Catholic School in the ACT, please refer to the Catholic Education Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn website for further information.
Students undertaking placement in Queensland are required to complete a Working With Children Check and obtain a blue card or suitability card for child related employment. This application is made through the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian. The blue card application form and schedule of fees is available on the Queensland Government Blue Card Services website or by calling the Blue Card Contact Centre, Monday to Friday between 8:00am – 5:00pm on 1800 688 275 (within Queensland) or (07) 3211 6700.
A section of the Work with Children application form will need to be completed by Charles Sturt staff member. Please send your application to your Professional Experience Co-ordinator on your home campus (contact details here). The home campus for distance education students is the Bathurst campus.
Please allow 6-8 weeks for the process to be finalised. Please note, as August 31, 2020 if a card holder does not apply to renew their card before it expires, they will be subject to the No Card, No Start laws and will not be able to continue work with children until a new blue card has been issued
Any teacher education student planning to undertake professional experience in Western Australia must have both a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and a Working with Children Check.
