Religiously-informed Resilience and Wellbeing Research Group
The "Religiously-informed Resilience and Wellbeing Research Group" (RRW) research group is a new interdisciplinary initiative at the Faculty of Arts and Education, Charles Sturt University that brings together researchers from the Centre for Islamic Studies and Civilisation and the School of Theology along with any researcher from Charles Sturt University and beyond focusing on the role of religion and faith values, people from faith traditions and the faith-inspired institutions like faith schools.
The group prioritises cultivating resilience and well-being through religiously informed spirituality. In addition to exploring the role of theology on resilience and wellbeing, the group also researches people, groups and institutions driven by faith. The RRW research group aligns with Charles Sturt University’s research narratives of Flourishing Communities, Resilient People, and Sustainable Environments.
This initiative harnesses Charles Sturt University’s academic strengths and the research efforts of member schools and centres to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and address the complex challenges within Australia’s multicultural and multifaith society. By examining resilience and well-being through the lens of religious and spiritual frameworks, the group aims to promote inclusive, resilient communities, offering research insights that support the social and spiritual health of diverse populations.
