“Building resilient and connected communities through faith-informed research”

Mission:

The Religiously-Informed Resilience and Wellbeing (RRW) Research Group explores how faith and spirituality contribute to resilience and wellbeing in individuals and communities.
The group brings together researchers from the Centre for Islamic Studies and Civilisation, the School of Theology, and partner centres across Charles Sturt University to promote collaboration between Muslim and Christian scholars.
By examining religion and spirituality in social and cultural contexts, RRW aims to strengthen inclusive, connected, and resilient communities that reflect Charles Sturt University’s research themes of Flourishing Communities, Resilient People, and Sustainable Environments.

Objectives:

RRW’s main objectives are to:

Produce high-quality research
Contribute to scholarship in religion, theology, and Islamic studies by publishing research in recognised academic journals and edited volumes.

Encourage collaboration
Build partnerships across schools and research centres and promote interfaith and interdisciplinary cooperation within and beyond Charles Sturt University.

Support research development
Strengthen Charles Sturt University’s research capacity through participation in national and international projects, conferences, and joint publications.

Mentor emerging researchers
Provide guidance and mentorship to early-career researchers and higher-degree students to enhance research quality and impact.

Create community impact
Share research outcomes through conferences, retreats, and community programs that encourage understanding, wellbeing, and interfaith dialogue.
