Research

This research attempts to develop a resource for students with intellectual disabilities within the secondary school context. It is an opportunity for these students to be offered one method to gain greater access to the curriculum. Currently, the method of delivery remains predominantly based upon the digital form. As a result, there is an underlying expectation and assumption that all students can read, interpret and respond to the visual stimuli delivered. This is not always the case for students with a mild intellectual disability. My study sets out to address this pedagogical gap and the limitations experienced by these students so that they too can experience the full benefits of being included.

Why I chose Charles Sturt

My journey has been quite substantial. I am almost nearing the completion of my PhD following transferring from another context. I live in NSW and find that CSU addresses my current needs in completing this significant task.
